He is survived by: his daughter Terri Donaldson (Angela); his stepchildren, Rick Talbot (Linda) and Christine Ellis (Rob); his sister Shirley; his caregivers, Sam, Jessica and Jenny; and also, Dr. Harvey Hart (Colleen) of Aberdeen and Harry Aldred. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations in remembrance of John to the Canadian Diabetic Association, or the Nanaimo branch of the SPCA, would be appreciated.
