He was predeceased by: his father Jack; his wife Esther; and his grandson Hunter. He is survived by: his sister Sharon; his children, Peter, Philip, Cherie and Tasha; his grandchildren, James (Crystal), Karyn (Victor), Carla, Julie (Steve), Hailey and Tycho (Brittany); and his great grandchildren, Holly, Elsie, Eva, Arthur and Lianna.

In 1969, Jack was given a rare position at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas.
