He was predeceased by: his parent Winnipeg. He is survived by: his wife Lynne; his children, Andrew (Raelene), Sally (Fiona) and John (Kerstin); and his grandchildren, Donovan, Allison, Sophie and Patrick.

Mike died peacefully at Nanaimo Regional District Hospital after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
