He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward John Withers and Mary Withers; and his siblings, Robert (Bob), Edward Charles (Ted), Marie Labelle, Doreen Chamberlain, Joan Colford and Barb Dobbin.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Carol; his children, John, Nick (Heather) and Karen (Nicolaas Janssen); and his sister-in-law Patricia Halley. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.
