She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband David Bakes; her daughters, Sandi Smoker (Gord), Deanna Bennett (Jeff) and Sheri Paisley; her grandchildren, Amanda Smoker (Ryan), James Smoker (Siobhan), Brendan Smoker (Andrea), Alex (James Green) and Jamie; her great grandchildren, Bree Seguin, Eilidh, Ian, Sadie Smoker, Clara, Theo, Matthew Smoker and Mazikeen Rauser; her siblings, Mary Krause (Ed), Peter Fast (Betty) and Vic Fast; her brother-in-law Brian Smith; and her parents, Peter Fast and Helen Fast. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation, NRGH Palliative Care Unit, or a charity of choice.
