She is survived by: her husband Fifi Esenam; her daughter Ama Esenam (Ovie Okpodu); her granddaughter Feji Okpodu; her siblings, Kofi Busia (Florence Bonsu) of Chicago, Adwoa Serwaa Wiafe-Akenten (Yaw Adu-Gyamfi) of Lynchburg and Abena Pokua Wiafe-Akenten of Wellington; her grandmothers, Ama Wiafe-Akenten (Danny) of Frankfurt, Kwabena Manu Annor (Karen Burpee) of Ottawa, Ontario. and Afrenewa Busia; and her grandchildren, Wiafe Akenten Busia, Adjoa Serwaa Busia of Chicago, Illinois, Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi (Dorcas Asempa), Prince Adu-Gyamfi, William Adu-Gyamfi of Lynchburg, Virginia, Isaac Hinkel, Ramon Hinkel of Frankfurt, Germany and Ebony-Mya Akenten of Ottawa, Ontario.. She is also survived by her nine nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Foundation (NRGH) in her honour.
