Bruce Joseph Kelman Obituary

Carrying with him pieces of our hearts, Bruce Joseph Kelman of Lantzville, BC passed away on October 24, 2019 in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 64 after an incredible demonstration of courage and strength in his fight against cancer. Bruce is forever loved and cherished by; Soulmate, Amelia Ubilus, (Jay, Linnea, Mike, Amanda), Children; Son Jason Kelman (Jess), Daughter Lindy Kelman and all of his beloved Grandchildren; Mariah, Gregory, Arianna, Connor, Baby-To-Be, Hannah and Daniel, Brother; James Kelman and fur babies; Chewy and Ginger.

Bruce Joseph Kelman was born on April 20th 1955 in Annapolis Valley to Therese (Muise) and James Kelman. The family moved to Vancouver Island and settled in Lantzville, BC (1967) where Bruce graduated from NDSS in 1973. Bruce found his calling, and a second family, employed as Head of maintenance at Edgewood Treatment Center in Nanaimo, a position he absolutely loved, with a team he loved to be apart of.

Not only a loyal and hardworking employee, Bruce was a devoted and compassionate father and proud loving grandfather who created lasting memories for his family such as camping in the summer, fishing on the Quinsom River, playing the guitar he taught himself and telling his own personalized dad jokes. Bruce always had a novel on the go, and was an amazing artist.

Evidence of his presence would be sticky notes with his doodles. As he loved to fish, he was game to set out on a fishing adventure at any time. You can bet he's waiting for that big one now! A service is scheduled for November 16th 2019, 1pm at The Nanaimo Church of the Nazarene (2150 Departure Bay Rd). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bruce's life!
