It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Keith Merkley of Nakusp, British Columbia, born in Smithers, British Columbia, who passed away on September 7, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jane; his daughters, Davana (Mike), Naomi (Aaron) and Sarah (Chris); his friend Keith; his grandchildren, Brynn, Claire, Odin, Oakley, Helene, Leonie and Poppy; and his father Grampy (Poppy).

“It is only tonight that we heard the news of Keith's passing. He leaves us with armfuls of memories and so much love for a gracious man and loyal friend. We shared our lives with him and Jane in Nakusp while we lived there and valued his creativity, his passion for ceramics and glazes, his quick wit and warm connections and his love of his family. He generously donated the upstairs room above the pottery for an art studio for me when I needed a large space and I loved it there. We miss you Keith”
