He was predeceased by: his wife Netty; his daughter-in-law Patricia; and his grandson Scott. He is survived by: his children, Jos, Mary Ann (Norman) and John (Ingrid); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Neil), Eric (Kiley), Ryan (Yin-Yee) and Michael (Marie); and his great grandchildren, Isaac, Annika, Elise, Alexandra and Elizabeth.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of BC would be appreciated.
