It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Evelyn Brykaliuk (Kimberley, British Columbia), born in Rossburn, Manitoba, who passed away at the age of 86, on April 15, 2018. She was affectionally known around town as 'the Chocolate Lady" because of her generous nature to hand out chocolates to everyone she would meet throughout her day. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Nellie Maydaniuk, husband Nicolas Brykaliuk, grandson Shaun Donaldson, and son-in-law Mike Newell. She will be lovingly remembered by her long time partner, Gerald Clark, her daughters Marlene (Alan) Law, Patricia Newell, Shirley (Len) Donaldson, Susan (Perry) Creguer, Gail (Harry) Gelowitz, Doris Parsons (Craig), and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. William Brown and the staff at Invermere & District Hospital for caring for our mother with dignity and respect. As per Evelyn's wishes, there will not be a funeral. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Heart Foundation.
