He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Rosner; his sister Irene; and his great grandchild Bruno. He is survived by: his children, Garry (Gayle), Brian (Carol) and Esther Itkonen (Tapio); his siblings, Arnold, Adoline, Herbert, Lydia and Bruno; his grandchildren, Lauren, Darrell (Kira), Jason (Elizabeth), Ian (Sophie) and Aric (Desire); and his great grandchildren, Johnathan, Lily and Summer.

A Funeral Service will be held to honour Roy, due to the current pandemic restrictions it will be by invitation only.
