She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Brandon Hoye (Nicole), Todd Hoye (Rafael), Susanna Zagar (Dino) and Danielle Zagar (Dan); her sisters, Bonnie Thorpe (Doug) and Charlene Kulla (Bruce); her grandchildren, Shaylen (Taylor), Matteo, Daniel, Jaxon and Peyton; and her great grandchildren, Boone and Indy. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, Mavis' wish was for any donations to be made to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
