He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rempel and Susanna Rempel; and his brothers, Henry (Kay), George (Vi), Cork (Carol) and Peter (Betty).

He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Barry (Michele), Carmen (Serge) and Heather (Sean); his grandchildren, Tara and Kelly; and his siblings, Bill (Kay), Jake (Joanne) and Helen (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
