He was predeceased by: his parents, John Emberley and Elizabeth Anne Emberley (Annie); his brother Joseph Emberley; his mother-in-law Sadie Caravan; and his sister-in-law Beverley Emberley.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Emberley (Caravan); his sons, Don (Paulette) of St. John's, NL and David (Anna) of Portugal Cove; his grandchildren, Claire, Kate and Thomas; his brothers, George Emberley (Joan) of Labrador City, NL, John Emberley of Houston, BC, Jerry Emberley (Peggy) of Fort McMurray, AB and Ron Emberley (Kathy) of Port; his father-in-law William Caravan of Grand Falls; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Caravan (Maxine) of Gander, NL, David Caravan (Agnes) of Grand Falls and Dianne Russell (Robert) of Liverpool, NS.. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, an extensive extended family.
