She was predeceased by: her husband Mike; and her brother Ron. She is survived by: her brother Larry; and her children, Theresa (Paul), Michael (Rhonda), Terry (Cathy), Kevin, Chris (Cathryn) and Dan (Dee). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Rita died on Nov. 8, 2018 at Mout St. Mary's Hospital, Victoria, BC, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
