He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Kern and Maria Kern. He is survived by: his wife Beryl; his children, Rudy Kern (Candice) and Sandy Kern; his grandchildren, Erich (Noelie), Taylor, Katie (Mason) and Madison; and his sister Elizabeth.

In keeping with Walter's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ruby Slipper Fund or the local charity of your choice.
