It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Alfred Haines in Fernie, British Columbia, born in Trail, British Columbia, who passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Haines and Helen Haines; and his sister Alice Dubois (Haines). He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Shawn, Penny (Mark), Roselien (Rick) and Sterling (Fiona); his grandchildren, Riley, Savannah, Ryan, Chase, Shelby, Mandy, Milana, Jaxon and Carter; and his brother Donald Haines (Barb). He is also survived by family members and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may made to the Diabetes Canada, CNIB, or the Canadian organization for the blind and deaf blind. Dad had a heart for underprivileged or disabled kids, so donations to kids camps or children charities are also encouraged.
