He was predeceased by: his father Marine Cooney; and his siblings, Jack (Marjorie) and Rose (Bruce). He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his children, Lesley, Patrick and Tim Cooney (Linda); his grandchildren, Melissa Watamanuk (Chris), Sean Cooney, Alex Hansen (Les), Carleen Bedomme and Sami Cooney; his great grandchildren, Lucas and Emily Watamanuk; and his brother-in-law Dorval. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
