He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dempster and Florence Dempster; his sister Audrey; his brothers-in-law, Garfield Carlyle and Vince Dobson; and his mother-in-law Lena Openshaw.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine; and his children, Graeme Dempster (Rachelle), Amelie, Zara, Sawyer, Nixon, Vaia, Estelle and Frederick. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews, cousins and many friends.
