She was predeceased by: her sister Wendy Wagner (Ben) of Winnipeg; and her daughter Jennifer. She is survived by: her husband Howie; her son Chris (Mary); her granddaughter Audrey; her son-in-law John Friesen; her grandchildren, Andrew and Megan Gariepy (David); her siblings, Helen Ann Geddes (Earl), Lorne Smiley (Janet Lawrence) and Bill Smiley (Carla); her niece Christine McKinnon; and her friend Diane Falk. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the "Royal Columbian Hospital Auxiliary" (706 6th Ave., New Westminster, BC V3M 2B3, Canada) would be appreciated OR as Joan would approve "Do a Random Act of Kindness".
