Lawrence Victor Palchinski Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence Victor Palchinski, lovingly known as ‘Larry,' who was a lifelong resident of Dawson Creek B.C. Larry passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 28th, 2025, at the age of 63 years at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George. In his final weeks, Larry remained strong as he fought a very hard three-month battle against his illness. Our world changed forever on the day he passed.

He leaves behind his loving wife and life partner of 42 years, Rhonda Palchinski, and their three children Penni White (Kirby Bennett), Lawrence White, and Donna Taylor (Morgan). Larry was a very proud Papa to his two grandchildren Noah Larocque and Eve Taylor, both of whom were the light of his life, along with his God daughters Kesha and Miley. Larry will be remembered dearly by his sisters Barbara Lawrance (Marty) and Margaret Sayer (Shayne); his many brother and sister in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and in particular a special mention to Theresa White of Kikino, Alberta. Larry has many loved ones and extended family members who will continue to remember him fondly. He will also be greatly missed by his best friend at home, Brian. Though Larry has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar like an eagle, on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

Larry was predeceased by his parents Ruby Ducommon & Lawrence Carl Palchinski, and his step-father Wilbur Ducommon. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, several in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Cremation has taken place at Prince George Funeral Services. For friends wishing so, donations made in memory of Larry can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the University Hospital of Northern B.C., Dialysis Unit.

In honor of Larry, a benefit dinner, dance, and silent auction will be held for the Palchinski Family on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Dawson Creek Seniors Hall (1101 Mc Keller Ave Dawson Creek, BC). All proceeds will go directly to the family to help cover the costs of his memorial and expenses accrued during his three month hospital admission. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. at Le's Restaurant (801 111 Ave, Dawson Creek, BC). Larry's family will hold a private ceremony to spread his ashes, as per his wishes, at a later date.
