He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gates and Lila Gates; and his siblings, Les and Linda. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Shona (Jaret), Amanda (Brian), Pam (Mike), Mark and Kendra (Brandon); his grandchildren, Demitrius, Mikenna, Kade, Lincoln, Jacob, Benjamin, Oliver, Lucas, Grace, Scott, Sophie and Lucy; and his sisters, Barb (Dale) and Maxine (Henry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
