Shirley Leola Nieuwejaar Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Leola Nieuwejaar of Courtenay, British Columbia, who passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 96. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Leola Nieuwejaar to pay them a last tribute.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gertrude Lenora Smith and William Edmund Baynes; her children, Susan Chief, Erik Nieuwejaar, Ula Nieuwejaar and Mark Nieuwejaar; and her grandchildren, Don Robinson, Seth, Devin Chief, Erica, Alexander Johansen and Super-Nana (Noah). She was also cherished by family including daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. George's United Church (505 6th St, Courtenay, BC V9N1M5).
