Greta (Reitsma) Berends Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Greta (Reitsma) Berends in Cedar, British Columbia, who passed away on July 18, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, Douwe Reitsma and Jennie Johnston; her son-in-law Robert Sigouin; her granddaughter Alissa Rempel; and her parents, Hessel Reitsma and Froukje Reitsma.

She is survived by: her husband Martin Berends; her daughters, Marilyn Sigouin, Karen Gordon (Jeff) and Sharon Allison (Evan); her grandchildren, Ryan Sigouin (Jodie), Tyler Gordon (Danica Penner), Hannah Parker (Kyle), Joshua Allison (Shalene Dellezey), Brooklyn Gordon, Rebekah Homan (Brandon) and Esther Allison; her great grandchildren, Hunter Rempel, Alexander Sigouin and Max Sigouin; and her siblings, Don Reitsma (Marilyn) and Theodora Bronfman.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Greta can be made to the BC Cancer Agency or Living Hope Missions.
