It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolores Margaret (Smith) Vander Maaten (Black Creek, British Columbia), born in Tessier, Saskatchewan, who passed away on December 3, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herb Smith and Margaret Smith; her husband Lavern Vander Maaten; her parents-in-law, Jessie and Nicolaas Vander Maaten; and her son-in-law Ralph Irvine.

She is survived by: her children, Dawn Erickson (Royce), John Vander Maaten (Donna), Betty-Rae Irvine and Glen Vander Maaten (Corinna Belcon); her sister Bertha Smith; and her brother-in-law Stein Vander Maaten (Donna). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
