He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Thelma; his stepmothers, Eva and Leita; his siblings, Orval, Del, Wilma and Gwen; and his stepsister Mona.

He is survived by: his wife Terry; his daughter Kim (Todd) of Barriere; his grandchildren, Derek (Samantha) of Kamloops, Mac (Ashley) of Kamloops and Megan of Barriere; his great grandchildren, Avah and Wesley; his foster sons, Mike of Kamloops and Norman of Kelowna; his siblings, Donella of Courtenay, Fred (Leta) of Kamloops and Mel (Jeannette) of Kamloops; and his stepbrothers, Frank of Sorrento and Marshall (Donna) of Abbotsford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and inlaws.

Merv had at one time been a Lions Club member, and as such, we request donations be made to the Barriere Lions Club in his name.
