He was predeceased by: his parents, William Baines and Annie Baines; his sisters, Muriel and Mavis; and his close friend Border Collie.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Baines; his children, Bill Baines, Tannis Wills (Brian), Lisa O'Connor (Stuart) and Denise Balbirnie (Wade); and his grandchildren, Joseph, Amber Baines, Kim, Jared, Gavin, Nathan Wills, Kate O'Connor, Brandon, Ryan, Megan and Sarah Balbirnie.
