He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mahowich and Anna Mahowich (Kowalchuk); his daughter Barbara Volpe; his siblings, Helen Cadieux, Josie Cadieux and John Mahowich; and his brother-in-law Martin Kachuk.

He is survived by: his wife Gladys of Willingdon; his children, Donald of Willingdon, Rob of Edmonton and Diana of Camrose; his stepson Michael Zuk of Edmonton; his sister Rose Kachuk of Clearwater, B. C.; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Cadieux (Susan) of Venice, Jay Cadieux of Bonnyville, Wayne Henschel of Wetaskiwin, Ron Henschel of Wetaskiwin and Margaret Mahowich of St. Lina. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
