He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sheffield and Ivy Sheffield; his wife Daisy (Margaret); his son Michael; his parents-in-law, Wilse and Nancy Burningham; his son-in-law Richard Gaetzman; and his brothers-in-law, Herschel Neff and Jim Moen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Gaetzman of Calgary and Deborah Sheffield of Leduc; his granddaughters, Trina Gaetzman-Massey (Jamie) of Amherstview and Robyn Gaetzman of Calgary; and his siblings, Max Sheffield (Pauline) of Edgerton, Douglas Sheffield (Joan) of Kelowna, Gail Neff of Sicamous and Sandy Moen of Salmon Arm.
