He was predeceased by: his son Donovan Rutledge; his parents, Gordon Rutledge and Margaret Rutledge; his father-in-law Melvin Arneson; his siblings, Jim Rutledge, Ed Rutledge and Kathleen Rutledge; and his brothers-in-law, Mervin Arneson and John Arneson.

He is survived by: his children, Chad Rutledge (Melissa), Corey Rutledge (Patricia Stuart) and Lisa Zelenika (Nick); the mother of his children Arlene Rutledge of Wainwright; his grandchildren, Haylie Rutledge, Morgan Rutledge, Riley Rutledge, Wyatt Rutledge, Cody Rutledge, Eloise Zelenika and Benjamin Zeleinka; his stepmother Lorraine Rutledge of Wainwright; his mother-in-law Evelyn Arneson of Wainwright; his siblings, John Rutledge (Bonnie) of Wainwright, Ken Rutledge (Michele) of Hardisty, Alberta and Judy Fenton (Henry) of Wainwright; and also Charlene Rutledge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
