He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Etherington; his parents, Eddie Etherington and Elda Etherington; his parents-in-law, Alyn Murray and Peter Murray (Rosalind); and his niece Naomi Rich.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Elliott (Mark), Caroline Simmons (Edward) and Alan Etherington (Diana Krys); his grandchildren, Zane Elliott (Wendy), Carrie Goldsmith (Bryce), Lyndsie Elliott, Morgan Elliott (Logan Garnier), Stephen, Randy, Brian Simmons, Stefani and Alex Etherington; his great grandchildren, Charlie, Jay, Maren and Colter Goldsmith; his sister Jessie Nowosad (Victor); and his siblings-in-law, Sarah Cockerill (Dave) and Alan Murray. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
