He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael and Martha; his siblings, Steve, Peter, Emil, Pauline, Mary and Jean; and his son-in-law Gordon Sawatzky.
He is survived by: his daughter Elaine Poliakiwski (Jim); his grandchildren, Julie Nasby (Aaron) and Trevor Poliakiwski; his daughter Susan Sawatzky; his grandchildren, Candice Welsh (Sean), Melanie Heit (Ryan) and Paul Sawatzky (Megan); his son Allan Scherba (Deborah); his grandchildren, Daniel, Derek and Arlene Cherniawsky (Don); his great grandchildren, Colin and Jaclyn (Andrew); and his sisters, Lily, Adeline, Julia and Louise.
