He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Hunka and Alice Hunka; and his siblings, John, Nick and Mary Semotiuk.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Barry (Brenda) and Darlene Schmidt (Bill); his grandchildren, Haley Hunka, Leah Torres Polo (Alejandro) and Alex Schmidt (Jill); his great grandchildren, Grace, Theo and Gavin Schmidt; and his sister Annie Zaharichuk.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Autumn Rose Funeral Home (5036 51 Ave, Vegreville, AB T9C1M1).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Covenant Health Foundation – Mary Immaculate Care Centre – Mundare, Alberta.".
