He was predeceased by: his parents, Tatsuzo Yamashita and Sei Nishikawa; his granddaughter Amber; and his siblings, Naomi Adachi and Shigei.
He is survived by: his spouse Ruriko of Lethbridge; his children, Robert (Sharon) of Calgary, Kathryn of Lethbridge, Geary (Cam) of Port Charlotte, Maureen (John Martini) of Osoyoos, BC and Linda (Bob Skelly) of Calgary; and his siblings, Hideko (Tom) and Nobby (Rose) of Lethbridge. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
