He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Plettl and Rosaliea "Rosa" Retzler; his son Michael A. Plettl; his siblings, Rosa Thoms, Elisabeth "Lisa" Weippert, Francis Kangiesser, Stefan "Steve" Plettl and Josef-Johann "Joe" Plettl; and his in-laws, Margaret Malm, Larry Craft, Jim Barca, Larry Barca, Rita Henline, Edward Henline and Mike Barca.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Plettl; his children, Corey Plettl (Mary Broderson) of Vauxhall, Lauralee Klippenstein (Evan) of Edmonton, Terry Plettl (Crystal Stout) of Red Deer and Jodie Plettl (Carmon Lastowsky) of Vauxhall; his grandchildren, Mike (Carlee), Tyren, Ryley (Serenity), Brooke Plettl, Kadence, Reese Klippenstein, Taylor, Korbin Broderson, Isaac and Alex; his great grandchildren, Madison, Spencer, Kira and Arie; his brothers, John Plettl and Fred Plettl (Gail); and also Southern of Alberta. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
