He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Thompson and Harold Thompson; his father-in-law Kenneth Jackson; his brother Chris Thompson; and his brother-in-law Shane MacDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Katelyn Thompson of Turner Valley and Paul Selman (Chelsea); his grandchildren, Sloan, Vaughn, Nash and Banks of Okotoks; his daughter Chelsea Barnert (Shane); his grandchildren, Austyn, Harper and Logan of Okotoks; his siblings, Lynn Antcliffe (Bill), Angela MacDonald and Edward Thompson (Sandra); his mother-in-law Sheila Jackson; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Handfield (Gerry), Margaret Gwartney (Tom), Ian Jackson (Charlene) and Barbara Werenka (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
