He was predeceased by: his parents, David Penner and Annie Penner (Nee Harder); his parents-in-law, Clarence and Kaleida Crawford; his sister Linda; and his siblings-in-law, Les Crawford, Marie Sommerville (Hugh) and Joan Stroschein (Ken).

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his sons, Lorne (Rita), Lyle and Larry (Marianne); his brothers, Lloyd (Laura), George (Lil), Bob (Edith), Jerry (Mildred) and Ernie (Claudette); his sisters-in-law, Gertie Crawford and Bonnie Cunningham (Alex); his grandchildren, Tabitha Penner, Rachel Musselwhite (Stephen), Stephanie Penner (Victor), Luke Penner (Sydney), Kimberly Beres (Greg), Blaine Penner (Brittany) and Jessica Penner; and his great grandchildren, Ocean Kalala, Oslo, Eloise Musselwhite, Taryn and William Beres.
