He was predeceased by: his parents, C. C. Toews and Anna Toews; his brother Henry; his siblings-in-law, Clara, Bill, Jack, Lloyd and Teenie; and his great grandchild Grace.

He is survived by: his wife Anne Toews (Falk); his children, Gwen, Ron (Ann), Ken (Bev), Phyllis and Lynnette (Bernie); and his siblings, Irma Klassen (Jake), Gladys Isaac, Wes (Marg), Ruth Ratzlaff, Allen (Marg), Eleanor Dueck and Gerry (Lorraine). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
