She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Dzioba and Antonina Dzioba; her husband Walter Sumyk; her close friend Alexander Fenske; her children, Rose and Bobby; and her son-in-law Leslie Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Morris Sumyk, William Sumyk (Joyce), Daniel Sumyk (Suzanne Gagnon), Henry Sumyk (Eva), Patricia Henderson, Irene Sumyk (Faiz Alie Qureshi), Violet Lewis (Bill Mount) and Barbara Sumyk. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, her twenty-one great grandchildren and numerous extended family.
