He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Pierson; his parents, Clifford Pierson and Viola Pierson; his children, Dan Pierson (Jackie), Wendy Layton (Lyndon), Sheila Girouard (Luke), Marnie Mouland (Garth), Kordi Gal (Brad), Karrie O'Brien (Mike), Nicole Pierson and Jared Pierson (Berry Ann); his brother Kenneth; his brother-in-law Derry; and his grandchildren, Jamara and Joshua. He was also cherished by forty grandchildren and forty one great grandchildren.
