He was predeceased by: his grandson Cole Fritz; his parents, Chris Brantner and Elna Brantner; his brothers, Charles Brantner (Carol) and Jerry Brantner (Judy); his brother-in-law Dennis Hamling; and his parents-in-law, Howard and Mary Hamling.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Brantner of Taber; his children, Deb Fritz (Daina Achorn) of Red Deer and Todd Brantner (Heather) of Taber; his grandchildren, Stevie and River; his child Peyton (Ashleigh); his grandchild Paycee; his child Keegan Brantner; his sister Joanne Lorencz (Barry); his daughter Debbie; and also Donna.
