He was predeceased by: his parents, Tresa DeBona and Peter DeBona; his brothers, Tom DeBona (Mary), John DeBona and Joey DeBona; and his sister-in-law Mary DeBona.

He is survived by: his daughter Kerry Sonnenberg of Leduc; his grandchildren, Dustin Sonnenberg and Jocelyn Sonnenberg; his great grandchild Abigail Sonnenberg of Leduc; his sister-in-law Pat DeBona of Taber; his uncle John Sekura (Diane) of Innisfail; and also, Brenda and Audrey of Drumheller. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
