He was predeceased by: his parents, Piet Sytsma and Jennie Sytsma; his in-laws, John and Bep Kreeft; his siblings, Wipkje, Barbara Halma and Richard Sytsma; and his brother-in-law Harry Brouwer.
He is survived by: his wife Ineke; his daughter Cindy Hansen (Mitch) of Bow Island; his grandchild Adrianna Ekailan (Waheed); his great grandchildren, Amelle and Noah; his grandchildren, Jaime Ocampos (Victor), Zachary Hansen, Seth Hansen and Leigha Hansen; his daughter Debbie Sytsma of Medicine Hat; his granddaughter Samantha Mitchell (Brian); his great grandchild Jessa; his grandchildren, Kasey Howard (Riley Lumley) and Jared Howard; his great grandchild Atlas; his siblings, Gerry Sytsma (Flo), Weltje Gouw (John), Wynne Bouwman (Uilke), Wilma Van Biert (Andy), Rita Brouwer and Jim Sytsma (Deb); and his siblings-in-law, Harry Halma and Jean Sytsma. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Much of John's medical journey was during the pandemic years but gracious care was always given.
