He was predeceased by : his son Doug Bassett; his parents, Clarence Bassett and Mildred Bassett Roach; his step-father Jack Roach; his father-in-law Vern Brown; his step-father-in-law Stan Wills. He is survived by : his wife Sharon Bassett; his children, Greg Bassett (Tracy) of Courtney, Rick Bassett (Kerry) of Welling, Rob Bassett (Shelly) of Taber and Tracey Matlock (Brad) of Coaldale; Bonnie (Brad) of Taber, Dennis Bassett of Mara Lake, B.C; his grandchildren, Mason, Sara Szentes (Chris) of Lethbridge, Tannis, Shondi, Brandi (Jorin), Brett, Darcie (Stuart) Megan, Boston; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Fallon, Sutton; his daughter-in-law Wanda Bassett; his sister Connie Valgardson (Ronald); his mother-in-law Arlene "Sis" Wills; his siblings-in-law, Richard Brown (Sandy), Lorraine Byrne (Al) and Charlene Olsen (Gerry). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
