He was predeceased by: his former wife Rose Ryder; his son Jason; his parents, Joe Desjarlais and Christina Desjarlais; and his siblings, William, Raymond, Clifford, Elmer and Joanne.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Karen, Kelly, Janis, Morgan (Loretta), Christina (Clifton), Kaycee, Wilson and Whitley (Nathan); his grandchildren, Jed, Mandy, Nevada, Jorja, Geneva, Dwight, Dallas, Dawson and Kendra; his great grandchildren, Kingston, Zachaylo, Sidney and Tatiana; his godchild Shannon Daniels; his siblings, Bruce (Sophie), Jack, Max (Darlene), Cyrus, Faye (Wilfred), Yvette, Marlene, Muriel and Melinda; his adoptive daughter Shnaye Powder; and his pet Pearl. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
