She was predeceased by: her father Edward Oscar; her sister Joan Cook; and her niece Natasha Collins. She is survived by: her mother Margaret Schmidtke; and her sisters, Connie Collins (Kirk), Dale Shelton, Audrey Beale (Andy) and Theresa Ashton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Karen's name may be made to the Horizon Center (5431 36 Ave, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 3C7).
