He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Gontowiuk and Stefan Gontowiuk; his sister Nancy Chichak (Walter); his stepdaughter Tammy Kee; and his siblings-in-law, Gladys Gontowiuk and Walter Chichak.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his stepchildren, Leonard Kee (Lucy), Dave Kee (Teresa), Tom Kee of Edmonton, Cathy Bernard (Murray) of Edmonton and Rose Gill (Danny) of Fort Saskatchewan; and his brother Nick Gontowiuk of Smoky Lake. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
