He is survived by: his wife Francine McMaster; his children, Nicolas, Brendon, Jaze, Joseph Jr., Elaine, Adrianna, Clarisse and Declan; his mother Marie Blackrider; and his siblings, Martin Blackrider (Shilo), Tricia Crowchild, Lucianne Crazyboy, Mark Crowchild (Bhey), Irene Blackrider, Leon Johnson, Aaron Crowchild, Raleigh Weasel Head (Jolene), Daniel Weasel Head, Alexander Crowchild, Dakota Weasel Head, River Blackrider (Jesse), Bernadine Crowchild, Derek Blackrider and Chantel Weasel Head.
