He was predeceased by: his brother Donald; and his parents, Peter and Vigdes. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Tyler (Gail) and Tami (Trevor); his grandchildren, Breanna (Dylan), Brendan, Shaelyn, Ashley and Aaron; his stepgranddaughters, Kristin and Katelyn; and his sister Joyce (John). He is also survived by nieces/a nephew, friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rick's name to the SPCA.
