He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Mildred (Schroter); his granddaughter Kellie; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Hudson and Griffin; and his former wife Jean.

He is survived by: his children, Eric and Kirsteen Bass (David); his sister Verna Hill (Dorothea); his grandson Michael McGhan (Danielle); his great grandchildren, Sophia, Erick and Alivia; his grandson Scott Bass (Wendy); his great grandchildren, Datyn, Thailyn, Jevan, Lawsen and Corvyn; his grandson Mark Bass (Janice); and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Kaden and Kendal. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
